Hidden Figures 

Hi bloggers, Pao is hereπŸ˜²πŸ‘ˆ, today is the end of the year (Including the decade!) I am so excited about that! By the way.. today I am going to talk about Ada Lovelace and Katherine Johnson. Ada Lovelace was the first computer programmer. She figured out instructions that a machine could use to solve difficult maths questions!AMAZING! On the other side, Katherine Johnson was a brilliant mathematician who worked in the NASA.  Her job was to check all of the maths that the engineers and astronauts used when designing the spacecraft and flying them into space! Thats a hard job! Katherine had to learn how to code when NASA started using computers. Maybe that computer was programmed by Ada. That was just a quick fact about Ada Lovelace and Katherine Johnson. Let me tell you some more facts about Ada Lovelace and Katherine Johnson.

1. Ada Lovelace is the fifth most famous female Mathematicians of All Time from 1815 to 1852

2. Katherine Johnson was a college graduate at 18

I think it is a very good coding app. You get to thinm and be specific with something. You get to consantrade on something. Thats why I think it is a good a coding app.

Hi bloggers, Pao is hereπŸ‘§πŸ‘ˆ, today I am going to talk about Stephen Hawking. Stephen Hawking was a very famous theoretical physicist. When he was young, he was diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease and slowly lost the ability to walk and talk. He needed to use a wheelchair to move around and a computer to help him to talk. He sadly died in 14 March 2018. That was just a quick fact about Stephen Hawking. Let me tell you some more facts about Stephen Hawking.

1. Stephen Hawking was born on 8 January 1942 in Oxford (England) in the middle of World War II!

2.  Stephen Hawkings's childrens are Lucy Hawking, Timothy Hawking, and Robert Hawking

3.  Stephen Hawking was the first to set out a theory of cosmology explained by a union of the general theory of relativity and quantum mechanics.

Those were some facts about Stephen Hawking. Did you know them? I did! Our task was to recount a time when you, or someone you know, experienced a challenge and overcame it. So here is mine.

I remember when me and my family were in Costa Rica and never knew that New Zealand existed. When we found out New Zealand, then we moved here. My mum, brother and me didn't know that much english. My father did know english but not that much has he knowns now! Now we all know enlish and I am very proud that we have learned a new languages.

Cracking the Code

Hi bloggers, Pao is hereπŸ’ƒπŸ‘ˆ, today I am going to talk about scientists and theorists. There are many people that has discoverde things about the world. Some of these people are (scienist or theorists.) Some of these people are Sir Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, Albert Einstein, Katherine Freese, Maria Goeppert Mayer and Sau Lan Wu. Each of these people came up with an idea and about how things work around us.  Much of their discoveries came up from observing things closely. I am no giving out some facts, sorryπŸ˜“.

Our task was to choose one of the pictures below and observe it closely. We have to describe the painting in detail. So here is mine.

The picture I chose had a blue background and it had wind signs in the left side. It had yellow suns all over around the picture. In the bottom there is a town.  In the left there is a big black tree.

He is now the second richest person in the world! He has a charity called (The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation) which helps a lot of people. Well on the other side... Steve Jobs was the co-founder of Apple. He invented the Apple computer, iPod, iPhone, and iPad. But sadly, he passed away in 2011. He passed away because he had cancerπŸ˜”πŸ˜“. That was just a quick fact Bill Gates and Steve Jobs. Let me tell you some more facts about Bill Gates and Steve Jobs.

1.  Steve Job's  last words are still a mystery.

2.   Bill Gates is an extremely generous philanthropist through the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation

3. Both people were very clever inventors of new technology.

Anybody with a google account can create their own YouTube channel. (As you may know) people who create videos and post videos on YouTube are called YouTubers. Youtubers post videos about music, make-up, fitness, cooking and lots of other things. In New Zealand, there are many Youtubers. Including Kiwi beauty YouTuber Miria Flavell and guitar guru, Nat Pua. That was just a quick fact about YouTube. Let me tell you some more facts about Youtube

1. Jawed Karim, Chad Hurley, and Steve Chen invented YouTube

2. The first person to become a YouTuber is Jawed Karim.

3. YouTube has over 2 billion users, almost one-third of all people on the Internet! WOW!

When she was 18 years old, she wanted to become a missionary. She moved to India and she worked very hard and cared for those who needed her the most. Princes Diana (Known as Diana) was a real life PrincessπŸ‘Έ! She was Queen Frances Shand Kydd is daughter and King John Spencer. As she travelled the world, she helped lots of people, especially those that were affected by illness and disease, and showed them that everyone needed love and respect. That was just a quick fact about Mother Teresa and Princes Diana. Let me tell you some more facts about Mother Teresa and Princes Diana.

1.  When Mother Teresa left to India, she never sawed her mother or sister again after leaving home to become a missionary.

2. Pincess Diana gaved life to Prince Harry and Prince William.

Humanitarian Heroes

Hi bloggers, Pao is hereπŸ˜‰πŸ‘ˆ, yesterday I had a great time! Did you? By the way.. today I am going to talk about the Emergency Services people. The Emergency Services is a group of people that help help people in New Zealand and all over around the world. Sometimes they even have to risk their own lives to help people! WOWZIZ! As you may know, Fire Service, Police Force, Ambulance Service, Search and Rescue, Air Ambulance, Civil Defence, Coast Guard, and Surf Lifesaving are the Emergency Service that all countries have.  Well, that was just a quick fact about the Emergency Service people. Let me tell you some more facts about the Emergency Service people.

1.  In January 2018, there were 23.5 thousand calls to 999 answered per day! WOW!!

2.  The world's oldest emergency service  999, is 80 years old today! 

3. The 999 call originated in London in 1936 was the world's first automatic telephone service to call the emergency services!

Those were some facts about the Emergency Service. Did you know them? I didn't! Our task was to create a google slide of solutions to the fires in New South Wales. We also have to create a voice record explaining the 5 solutions. Here is my voice record and my slide.

Hi bloggers, Christmas is here πŸŽ…πŸ€ΆπŸŽ„πŸ‘ˆ, I am so excited! Are you? By the way.. today I am going to talk about Sir Δ€pirana Ngata and Dame Whina Cooper. Sir Δ€pirana Ngata was a lawyer and politician. He worked very hard for many years to make Maori peoples live more easier. Dame Whina Cooper worked on improving health, education, housing and welfare for Māori women. She led the Māori land hikoi from Northland to Wellington! WOW! She did that to protest against the lost Māori land. That was just a quick fact about Sir Δ€pirana Ngata and Dame Whina Cooper. Le me tell you some more facts about Sir Δ€pirana Ngata and Dame Whina Cooper.

1. Dame Whina Cooper used to be a schoolteacher, historian, and an activist.

2. Sir Δ€pirana Ngata's education was University of Canterbury, Te Aute College, and The University of Auckland

Hi bloggers, Pao is hereπŸŽ…πŸ‘ˆ today I'm going to talk about the 370 and 500 million Indigenous peoples.There are over 370 and 500 million Indigenous peoples living in the world! Incredible! They represent over 5000 different cultures and speak 4000 different languages! Indigenous Peoples is the are the first people to used to describe the people who were the first inhabitants of a land. In Aotearoa, Māori are Indigenous. Indigenous peoples have rich and vibrant cultures that make the world a fascinating and varied place to live. I will only give two facts, sorry😭.

1.  370-500 million, indigenous peoples represent the greater part of the world's cultural diversity!WOW!!

2.  They have created and speak the major share of the world's almost 7000 languages! Amazing!!


Those were some two facts about 370 and 500 million Indigenous peoples. Did you know them? I didn't! By the way... does facts really impressed me! Did they impressed you? Our task was to tell the names of the two groups that you are interest in and then tell at least two facts about each group. So this is the two groups I choose. 


I will choose the Australian Aboriginal People and the Maya people.


Here are two facts about Australia People 


1.  Aboriginal Australians have lived on the continent for over 50,000 years. Amazing!

2. Australian Aboriginal culture includes a number of practices and ceremonies centered on a belief in the Dreamtime. 


Now here are 2 facts about Maya people

1. Their Pyramids and cities are being now discovered


2. The love chocolate, that means they eat a lot of chocolate!

Hi bloggers, Pao is hereπŸŽ…πŸ‘ˆ ,today I am going to talk about Hōne Heke. Hōne Heke was a strong, a warrior, and an intelligent chief. Hōne Heke was the first chief to sign Te Tiriti o Waitangi in 1840. He got frustrated at how the British were treating the Māori. British people did no achieve their promise. To protest, Hōne Heke decided to cut down the flagpole that flew the British flag. Like that the British people start acting like they have to.That was just a quick fact about Hōne Heke. Let me tell you some more facts about Hōne Heke.

1. We don't know his exact date of birth, but it might be around 1808.

2.  Hōne Heke's full name is Hōne Wiremu Heke Pōka.

3. His parents were Te Kona (Mum), Tupanapana (Father)

Hi bloggers, Pao is hereπŸŽ…✌, today I am going to talk about Malala Yousafzai. Malala Yousafzai is from Pakistan. In 2012, but she was shot when she was traveling home from school.  Girls in Pakistan were not allowed to go to school. When Malala got better, she fought for the rights of all women and girls to be able to go to school. She was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and she became the youngest person ever to receive Nobel Peace Prize. That was just a quick fact about Malala Yousafzai. Let me tell you some more facts about Malala Yousafzai. 

1. Malala has written books about her own life.

2.  Malala's parents are Ziauddin Yousafzai (Dad), and(Toor Pekai Yousafzai (Mum)

3. Malala is a Muslim

Those were some facts about Malala Yousafzai. Did you know them? I did! Our task was to write a short story. The story can be about anything that we wish! So here is my story.

I am an astronaut, I better get ready for tomorrow. Tomorrow is my big day! Tomorrow is my big day because I have a mission to find a black hole. But I will have to bring a telescope. I can't get to close to the black hole, if I do I will not be able to get out of the black hole. Let me tell you what the black hole is. A black hole is a region of space time exhibiting gravitational acceleration so strong that nothing, I mean nothing can escape from it. Not  even electromagnetic radiation such as light can escape from it.

HI bloggers, Pao is hereπŸŽ…πŸ‘ˆ,today I am going to talk about Kate Sheppard. Kate Sheppard was a very important New Zealander because she helped to get women the right to vote. That made New Zealand the first country to let women vote in history. That all happened in 1893. To remember Kate Sheppard’s role in giving women the vote, her image on our $10 note. That was just a quick fact about Kate Sheppard. Let me tell you some more facts Kate Sheppard.

 1. Kate Sheppard's sibling is Isabella May

2. Kate Sheppard's child is Douglas Sheppard

3. Kate Sheppard's parents are Jemima Crawford Souter and Andrew Wilson Malcolm

Those were some facts about Kate Sheppard. Did you know them? I did! Our task was to Imagine that the government has decided to create a new $10 bank note. They want to replace Kate with a picture of a different NZ woman. We had to tell who you think should be put on the new $10 note. We have to provide it with a picture of the amazing woman and explain why you think she should be chosen. So here it is.

 I think it should be Malala Yousafzai because back then,girls from Pakistan were not allowed to go to school. In 2012, she got shot at travelling from home to school. Once Malala got better, she fought for the rights of all women and girls to be able to go to school. She was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize - the youngest person to ever receive this prize. Hi bloggers, Pao is hereπŸŽ…✌, today I am going to talk about Martin Luther King Jr and Rosa Parks. Martin Luther King Jr was a civil rights activist in USA. USA had laws that kept black and white people separated. Martin Luther King Jr wanted everyone to be treated in a normal way. Rosa Parks was another American civil rights activist. She is most famous for refusing to give up her seat on a bus to a white passenger. That was just a quick fact about Martin Luther King Jr and Rosa Parks. Let me tell you some more facts about Martin Luther King Jr and Rosa Parks.


1 . Martin Luther King Jr was the youngest person to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964.

2.  Rosa Parks was active in politics, and she is a hero. She is known as the mother of the civil rights movement.

3.  There are over 730 streets in the United States named after Martin Luther King, Jr.

Those were some facts about Martin Luther King Jr and Rosa Parks. Did you know them? I didn't! Our task was to tell the problem and solution that Rosa Parks had. So here it is. 

Rosa Parks was born in 4 February 1913 and she was like a normal kid. But her mum and dad decided to divorce and then Rosa Parks and her mum moved with her Grandparents. She grew up and one day, she went on a bus and sited down. But then the bus driver told her to move because a white passenger wanted to sit down. But Rosa Parks said know because she was tired to be treated unfairly. But then the bus driver sended her to prison.  She was accused for not following the law.  But there was another person named Martin Luther King Jr that refused to get on a bus to go around town. The buses started being empty, then they said that to do something. So then on December 20th 1956, Supreme court change the law because they said that Africans Americans can not be treated unfairly.

Hi bloggers, Pao is hereπŸŽ…✌,today I am going to talk about Greta Thunberg. Greta Thunberg (Known as Greta) is a 16 year old Swedish girl that is upset that adults are not doing enough for climate change to stop. Every Friday , she protests about climate change instead of going to school. She inspired the School Strike for Climate protests. Not everyone believes in climate change. I am kind of upset and disappointing that not everybody believes in climate change because, in a future we might be swimming because all ice will melt and turn into water (As we all know). So I am upset and disappointed about that. Well.. That was just a quick fact about Greta. Let me tell you some more facts about Greta

1. Greta's name means pearl.

2.  She was born in  Sweden 3 January 2003 ( So she is 16 years old)

3. On 31 March 2019, Greta received the German Goldene Kamera Special Climate Protection award.

Those were some facts about Greta. Did you know them? I didn't! Our task was read the School Strike for Climate Australia website and list 3 things I have learned in her website. We also have to take a picture about things my family and me are doing for the planet, so here is the list and the photos. 

Things I have learned

1. I didn't know that in Australia, education is viewed as immensely important and a key way to make a difference in the world.

2. I also didn't know that she is now in Australia

3. I didn't know that Australia's land was stolen (Thats what I understanded)

Hi bloggers, Pao is hereπŸŽ…✌, tomorrow is Christmas Eve! Can't wait till 25 to see what I got under my Christmas Tree! By the way...today I am going to talk about Nelson Mandela. Nelson Mandela was an activist and civil rights leader who lived in South Africa. South Africa had different rules for people who had white skin and those who didn’t. This was called apartheid. But Nelson Mandela tried to change the law, but.. they sended him to the Robben Island Prison. That was just a quick fact about Nelson Mandela. Let me tell you some more facts about Nelson Mandela.

1. Nelson Mandela spent 18 years in Robben Island prison

2. Nelson Mandela was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993.

3. He had six children and twenty grandchildren.

Those were some facts about Nelson Mandela. Did you know them? I didn't! Our task to imagine that you are Mr Mandela and you are in prison. On your blog, write a diary entry pretending that you are Mr Mandela. Please write at least four sentences to describe what it might be like in the prison. So here is my diary 4 sentences

This is prison, all dirty and it smells contaminated. People are sleeping in the floor, but some are not. I hope I don''t have to sleep in the floor. Rats are in the floor eating the food drooped in the ground, as well as worms, cockroaches, and flies. I do not want to go inside the toilet. They told me they haven't cleaned it for years. This is just so not cool. I feel unsafe. People are looking at me very badly. I think they are racist. Now we are going to look where I am going to stay. Oh! I get to sleep in a bed! Summer Learning Journey (Week 2 Day 1 activity 3)

Hi bloggers, Pao is hereπŸŽ…πŸ‘ˆ, I am just going to tell you one quick fact that has nothing to do with our task. Did you know that there are more trees in the world than stars on the Milky Way! WOW, I did not know that! By the way... Today I am going to talk about Jacinda Ardern. Jacinda Ardern (Known as Jacinda) Is know New Zealand's 40th Prime Minister.  As Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern has to makes a lot of important decisions. She meets with people to hear their ideas and see what they think before making a decision. That was just a quick fact about Jacinda. Let me tell you some more facts about Jacinda

1. She was the world's youngest female head of a government! She became the Prime Minister of New Zealand with the age of 37.

2. Jacinda was born in Hamilton (New Zealand)  in 26 July 1980 (So she is 39 years old).

3.  Jacindas daughter is Neve Te Aroha Ardern Gayford

Those were some facts about Jacinda Ardern. Did you know them? I did! Our task was to  write a letter to Jacinda about something that is important to you. Tell her why it is important and what you would like her to do about it. So here is my letter

Swimming Lessons should be free because our country New Zealand in full of water, so for safety children and Adults should know how to swim.

You should let other people from other countries have New Zealand Residents like that our countries population will grow

All cars in New Zealand should be Hybrid or Electric car because of climate change

Those are the important things that I will like to happen

Hi bloggers, Pao is hereπŸŽ…πŸ‘ˆ, Christmas is almost here! But I am not going to talk abou Christmas, I am going to talk about Dr Jessa Rogers. Dr Jessa Rogers (Known as Jessa)  is a Aborignal woman from Queensland (Australia). She is a leader in Aboriginal education. Jessa gave live to a baby when she was quite young. But she still went well at school and went to University. That was just a quick fact about Jessa. Let me tell you some more facts about Jessa


1. Jessa was 25 when she won the NAIDOC Youth of the Year award

2.  Jessa was born in Canberra  (Australia) 7 April 1985

3. She won the NAIDOC Youth of the Year award in 2010

Those were some facts about Jessa Rogers. Did you know them? I didn't! Our task was to answer this question : How many years until you are 25? So here is my answer

So the answer to this question will be: 14 years and 11 months. I knew that it was that because I am 10 years old and my birthday is in the second of November
