Summer Learning Journey (Week 3 Day 2 activity 3)

Hidden Figures

Hi bloggers, Pao is here😲👈, today is the end of the year (Including the decade!) I am so excited about that! By the way.. today I am going to talk about Ada Lovelace and Katherine Johnson. Ada Lovelace was the first computer programmer. She figured out instructions that a machine could use to solve difficult maths questions!AMAZING! On the other side, Katherine Johnson was a brilliant mathematician who worked in the NASA.  Her job was to check all of the maths that the engineers and astronauts used when designing the spacecraft and flying them into space! Thats a hard job! Katherine had to learn how to code when NASA started using computers. Maybe that computer was programmed by Ada. That was just a quick fact about Ada Lovelace and Katherine Johnson. Let me tell you some more facts about Ada Lovelace and Katherine Johnson.

1. Ada Lovelace is the fifth most famous female Mathematicians of All Time from 1815 to 1852

2. Katherine Johnson was a college graduate at 18

3.  They were both two smart womens

Those were some facts abou about A
da Lovelace and Katherine Johnson. Did you know them? I didn't! Our task was to
Check out the code.org. website Have a go at the activities. On your blog, post a screenshot of your completed shape. Underneath the shape tell us what you thought of the coding app. Is it good? Why/why not? Here is mine.

I think it is a very good coding app. You get to thinm and be specific with something. You get to consantrade on something. Thats why I think it is a good a coding app.

Thank you for watching

Bye Bye Bye😉😀

  2. Kia Ora Pao,

Well done for creating a shape on code.org. I recently tried it and it was harder than I thought! Have you tried to create other shapes? I struggled slightly with figuring out the degrees, sometimes it didn’t create an actual shape so I had to keep going and trying other things and it eventually worked! Have you done any other coding? My class has done some coding with Scratch and they really enjoy it.

    Blog ya later,

    Dani

    1. Well hello Dani

Thank yo for this phenomenal blog post. I have tried a Moana coding code and it is a fun one. I have tried some other shapes but on my chromebook I cant take a screenahot so I had to try the same coding app on my mums phone. Thank you again Dani
