Summer Learning Journey ( Week 2 Day 4 activity 3)

Wise Words

Hi bloggers, Christmas is here 🎅🤶🎄👈, I am so excited! Are you? By the way.. today I am going to talk about Sir Āpirana Ngata and Dame Whina Cooper. Sir Āpirana Ngata was a lawyer and politician. He worked very hard for many years to make Maori peoples live more easier. Dame Whina Cooper worked on improving health, education, housing and welfare for Māori women. She led the Māori land hikoi from Northland to Wellington! WOW! She did that to protest against the lost Māori land. That was just a quick fact about Sir Āpirana Ngata and Dame Whina Cooper. Le me tell you some more facts about Sir Āpirana Ngata and Dame Whina Cooper.

1. Dame Whina Cooper used to be a schoolteacher, historian, and an activist.

2. Sir Āpirana Ngata's education was University of Canterbury, Te Aute College, and The University of Auckland

3.
Sir Āpirana Ngata's real name was Sir Āpirana Turupa Ngata.

Those were some facts about Sir Āpirana Ngata and Dame Whina Cooper. Did you know them? I didn't! Our task was to share someone that has been a role model with you. We first have to ask them one advise and then share it in our blog. So here is mine. The person I choose will be my Mum and Dad (They told me to be strong, not to let anybody bully you, or to follow your dreams) So thats why I choose them and thats what they told me:)

Thank you for watching

Bye Bye Bye👍🤶🎅

  1. Ahiahi Mārie Pao,

Well done on making it to your fourth bonus activity of week 2!

I really enjoyed reading your blog post about the “Wise words” you have received from someone in your life that is a role model to you. I like that you chose your parents for this activity and I can see that the advice that they gave you must be very special and important to you.

I think the advice they have given you is very wise, and speaks volumes. My parents too have always told me to follow my dreams too.

What are some of your biggest dreams?

    Kueni.
