Summer Learning Journey (Week 2 Day 4)

🎄🤶Indigenous Rights🤶🎄

Hi bloggers, Pao is here🎅👈 ,today I am going to talk about Hōne Heke. Hōne Heke was a strong, a warrior, and an intelligent chief. Hōne Heke was the first chief to sign Te Tiriti o Waitangi in 1840. He got frustrated at how the British were treating the Māori. British people did no achieve their promise. To protest, Hōne Heke decided to cut down the flagpole that flew the British flag. Like that the British people start acting like they have to.That was just a quick fact about Hōne Heke. Let me tell you some more facts about Hōne Heke.

1. We don't know his exact date of birth, but it might be around 1808.

2.  Hōne Heke's full name is Hōne Wiremu Heke Pōka.

3. His parents were Te Kona (Mum), Tupanapana (Father)

Those were some about Hōne Heke. Did you know them? I did! Our task was to look at the Whakataukī document and choose one poster that you like. We have to create a poster of the poster you choose in the document. We have to include at least one image on the poster. Here is the link for my poster.

Thank you for watching
