Summer Learning Journey (Week 2 Day 5)

Humanitarian Heroes

Hi bloggers, Pao is here๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘ˆ, yesterday I had a great time! Did you? By the way.. today I am going to talk about the Emergency Services people. The Emergency Services is a group of people that help help people in New Zealand and all over around the world. Sometimes they even have to risk their own lives to help people! WOWZIZ! As you may know, Fire Service, Police Force, Ambulance Service, Search and Rescue, Air Ambulance, Civil Defence, Coast Guard, and Surf Lifesaving are the Emergency Service that all countries have.  Well, that was just a quick fact about the Emergency Service people. Let me tell you some more facts about the Emergency Service people.

1.  In January 2018, there were 23.5 thousand calls to 999 answered per day! WOW!!

2.  The world's oldest emergency service  999, is 80 years old today!

3. The 999 call originated in London in 1936 was the world's first automatic telephone service to call the emergency services!

Those were some facts about the Emergency Service. Did you know them? I didn't! Our task was to create a google slide of solutions to the fires in New South Wales. We also have to create a voice record explaining the 5 solutions. Here is my voice record and my slide.

Thank you for watching

  1. Good morning Pao,

That's amazing that you had a great time during Christmas! I sure had a fun time celebrating with friends and family. I'm back on your blog to check how you're going, and you're doing fantastic!

Thank you and Ka Pai for adding in extra facts, you always continue to make your work more informative and to a higher standard.

That is sure a lot of calls! 23.5 thousand calls is enough for me in a lifetime, not even mentioning a day! You're facts are very interesting, and I never knew them before your post. Emergency Service is just amazing and it really does save peoples lives while they risk their lives, don't you think?

The things you've included to help New South Wales are just excellent! You've done a wonderful job including lots of different ways to fundraise money. Car washing, donating, making a business, selling goods and setting up a foundation are just five of the millions of different ideas. I like how you did a variety of different ways rather than just sticking to one idea.

For your record that explains your ideas, I currently don't have permission to view it. You can easily change that so the world can see your great video. Just change the settings to 'anyone with link can VIEW' so that we can watch and enjoy it! Keep that in mind next time when you need to link in a video :).

Overall Pao, you are racing through the SLJ, and your work is just incredible! Keep up the hard mahi!
