School Strike for Climate๐
๐๐
Hi bloggers, Pao is here๐
✌,today I am going to talk about Greta Thunberg. Greta Thunberg (Known as Greta) is a 16 year old Swedish girl that is upset that adults are not doing enough for climate change to stop. Every Friday , she protests about climate change instead of going to school. She inspired the School Strike for Climate protests. Not everyone believes in climate change. I am kind of upset and disappointing that not everybody believes in climate change because, in a future we might be swimming because all ice will melt and turn into water (As we all know). So I am upset and disappointed about that. Well.. That was just a quick fact about Greta. Let me tell you some more facts about Greta
1. Greta's name means pearl.
2. She was born in Sweden 3 January 2003 ( So she is 16 years old)
3. On 31 March 2019, Greta received the German Goldene Kamera Special Climate Protection award.
Those were some facts about Greta. Did you know them? I didn't! Our task was read the School Strike for Climate Australia website and list 3 things I have learned in her website. We also have to take a picture about things my family and me are doing for the planet, so here is the list and the photos.
Things I have learned
1. I didn't know that in Australia, education is viewed as immensely important and a key way to make a difference in the world.
2. I also didn't know that she is now in Australia
3. I didn't know that Australia's land was stolen (Thats what I understanded)

ReplyDeleteMฤlล e lelei Pao,
Thank you for completing week two, day two, activity two! I enjoyed reading what you’d learnt from the School Strike for Climate Australia website. I also like the images you’ve added to show what you’re doing around home to help protect the environment! Ka pai.
I am trying to use less plastic, so am buying things from bulk bins instead of in packaging, and am trying to reduce the amount of red meat I eat.
Did you attend the Climate Strike Protest in Auckland last year? If you didn’t you might be interested in reading about it here: https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=12271480
Have a great Friday!
Eliza :)
