Hi bloggers, Pao is hereπ
✌, tomorrow is Christmas Eve! Can't wait till 25 to see what I got under my Christmas Tree! By the way...today I am going to talk about Nelson Mandela. Nelson Mandela was an activist and civil rights leader who lived in South Africa. South Africa had different rules for people who had white skin and those who didn’t. This was called apartheid. But Nelson Mandela tried to change the law, but.. they sended him to the Robben Island Prison. That was just a quick fact about Nelson Mandela. Let me tell you some more facts about Nelson Mandela.
1. Nelson Mandela spent 18 years in Robben Island prison
2. Nelson Mandela was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993.
3. He had six children and twenty grandchildren.
Those were some facts about Nelson Mandela. Did you know them? I didn't! Our task to imagine that you are Mr Mandela and you are in prison. On your blog, write a diary entry pretending that you are Mr Mandela. Please write at least four sentences to describe what it might be like in the prison. So here is my diary 4 sentences
This is prison, all dirty and it smells contaminated. People are sleeping in the floor, but some are not. I hope I don''t have to sleep in the floor. Rats are in the floor eating the food drooped in the ground, as well as worms, cockroaches, and flies. I do not want to go inside the toilet. They told me they haven't cleaned it for years. This is just so not cool. I feel unsafe. People are looking at me very badly. I think they are racist. Now we are going to look where I am going to stay. Oh! I get to sleep in a bed! This is a miracle. But... People are smoking and the smell is very disgusting, but I have to get used to it. This will happen everyday.
Thank you for watching

ReplyDeleteHi again Pao,
Thank you for completing week two, day two, activity one. Your diary entry of how Nelson Mandela would’ve felt in prison is fantastic - I like how emotive and descriptive you’ve made it, I really got a sense of how it must’ve been for Nelson Mandela in prison. He was an amazing man wasn’t he!?
If he was still alive today, what would be one question you’d ask him?
Have a great day and keep up the epic mahi!
Eliza :)
