Summer Learning Journey (Week 1 Day 4)

Individual Pursuits🎾

Hi my friends, Pao is here😻✌, today I am going Billie Jean King, Venus Williams, and Serena Williams. Billie Jean King, Venus Williams, and Serena Williams are awesome at playing Tennis. They all have worked hard to make sure that female tennis players get paid the same amount as male players do. Billie Jean King is famously known for betting a male player Bobby Riggs in 1973, to show that women are just as good at playing tennis as men. Those were some facts about Billie Jean King, Venus Williams, and Serena Williams. Let me tell you some facts about Billie Jean King, Venus Williams, and Serena Williams.

1. Serena Williams is the best player ever to step on the tennis court! WOW!

2.  When Billie Jean King was a child, she wanted to be a preacher when she grow up!

3.  Venus Williams is an Olympic gold medalist who has won 7 Grand Slam titles!

Those were some facts about Billie Jean King, Venus Williams, and Serena Williams. Did you know them? I didn't! Our task was to watch a video and tell three things that we learned about watching the video. So here are three things I learned bu watching the video I watch.

Serena Williams

1.  I didn't know that Serena Williams had five sisters

2. I didn't know that Serena Williams stared playing tennis at the age of 3

3. I didn't know that Serena Williams won the gold medal at the 2000 Olympic games with her sister Venus.

Those were the things I learned when I watched the video. Question Time! If you could collaborate to solve any problem that our world has, what problem will you solve?

Thank you for watching

Bye Bye Bye👸✌📷

  1. Mālō e lelei Pao, happy Wednesday!

Thank you for doing week one, day four, activity one! I found the videos about the Williams’ Sisters really interesting, did you? Thanks for sharing those facts, I can see you’ve put a lot of thought and effort into this activity, ka pai!

I also like how you’ve been creative and discussed Billie Jean King too, this shows you’ve thought out of the box which is a fantastic skill to have. A couple of years ago I saw a movie about Billie Jean King called “Battle of the Sexes” - It was a great movie and I found it really inspirational :)

What is one thing you would still like to know about the Williams’ Sisters? You can just post it in a comment below.

To answer your question, I would collaborate to end every type of violence we have in the world.

Thanks for posting and keep up the awesome mahi!
    Eliza :)
