  1. Kia ora Paola,

My name is Rachel and I am working on the Summer Learning Journey programme this year. It is so great to see that you are participating with us and posting information about this amazing country that we call home, New Zealand, on your blog. Like you, I would love to visit Tane Mahuta. I think that it is very special that we have a tree in our country that is thousands of years old. Wow! I would love to go and see Tane Manhuta and to have the chance to admire it. Apparently, it is so big that you can't even see the top of it.

I wonder if there are any animals that live in the tree? I suspect that some birds may make nests in its branches or hide out in little crevices (holes) in the tree's trunk. It certainly would be a very special place to visit. I really hope that you get the chance to go there one day.

In the meantime, I hope that you and your family are having a wonderful holiday season. Do you have any special plans for this week? My family is getting together on Christmas day for breakfast. We are then going over to a friend's house for dinner and we are supposed to bring something to share. I think that we might make a ham or a salad. What does your family eat for special occasions? Do you have any specific foods?

I hope that you will enjoy the holiday season. I'll look forward to coming back to read your blog again soon and to post more comments. In the meantime, please keep up this great work with the Summer Learning Journey programme.

    Blog you later!

  3. Hello Pao,
I am Vitaraag. I think that Tane Mahuta is a phenomenal tree. Do you think that Tane Mahuta is a amazing tree? I want to visit Tane Mahuta because I want to see it in person and compare it size to other trees in New Zealand. Maybe next time you can say what type of tree it is. Keep up the amazing work!
